Esther Serramia paints large-scale figurative works — angels, ethereal figures, soft light on enormous canvases. Her studio is bright and cathedral-like, the walls covered in work in progress.

She wore Nail Restaurant the way painters wear things they love — unselfconsciously, layered over a white off-shoulder top, brushes in hand. The pieces looked like they belonged in the paintings.
